We want to extend our congratulations to attorney Christopher S. Reed, Esq. for being named as a 2015 Florida Legal Elite  as a Civil Trial lawyer.

Voting for this year’s Legal Elite attorneys began in October 2014 when Florida Trend invited all in-state members of the Florida Bar to participate by naming attorneys whom they hold in the highest regard. A panel of previous Legal Elite winners reviewed the selection process and the list of finalists. The final Florida Legal Elite list represents 2 percent of active Florida bar members who practice in Florida, truly rendering this a very presitgious recognition.

In an effort to get to know our Legal Elite a bit more we sat down with him and asked a few questions. In chatting with him and receiving his answers we can easily see see why he is so highly regarded by his peers and so beloved by his clients and staff.

Describe one of your typical workdays?

One of the greatest things about this job is that you never know exactly what the next day will bring. However, a typical day consists of helping clients, researching the law, and analyzing issues so that I am 100% prepared to best represent our clients.

What is your favorite author or quote?

Let us never forget that government is ourselves and not an alien power over us. The ultimate rulers of our democracy are not a President and senators and congressmen and government officials, but the voters of this country.” Franklin D. Roosevelt

What are your hobbies or pastimes when not at work?

I love the game of golf as it presents a new challenge with each shot. I am an avid Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan who has had season tickets for 20 years. I also love spending time with my wonderful wife, Kathy and my awesome daughter, Kaitlyn.

Do you have a personal “hero” or someone that inspires you? If yes, who and why?

My mom inspires me. She was a teacher who taught young minds for more than 35 years before she retired. She influenced thousands of young people to do better. She taught me to find a job that you love because satisfaction in your job and life is more rewarding than any amount of money.

What word of wisdom would you want to pass on to the next generation of attorneys that are new in the field?

Always remember that you work for the client, the client does not work for you. Your clients have put their trust in you to take care of them in their time of need. Don’t ever let them down.
