Florida Insurance Lawyers

The real purpose of insurance is to provide assurance. People want to be confident that if something unplanned were to happen, they are prepared. Most of things we cherish have insurance available like our health, vehicles, houses, and businesses. Insurance provides a sense of security, but can you really cover everything? Check out some examples of insurance policies you didn’t know existed.

Alien Abduction Insurance

What if you are lying in bed and a glowing light beams you up into alien spaceship and kidnaps you? Well, believe it or not, there is insurance for that. Alien abduction insurance was first offered by a Florida-based UFO insurance company. You can get an alien abduction policy for less than $20. Paranormal insurance does not stop at alien abduction —there is vampire and werewolf insurance available as well.

Wedding Insurance

It almost seems like weddings can never go according to plan. There are so many people involved in the big day, from photographers and caterers to friends and family, that it gets hard to keep track of it all.

No matter how well you prepare in advance, something can still go wrong. Sometimes it’s a small hiccup like the father of the bride running late or it could be a complete disaster like sudden death, serious illness, or severe weather problems. Many couples want to guarantee that their thousand dollar investments don’t go to waste for issues outside of their control.

The only thing wedding insurance doesn’t cover is cold feet. Call us crazy, but if you’re looking for cold feet insurance, you probably shouldn’t get married. (We can’t help with cold feet insurance, but we can definitely help you with a divorce!)

Body Parts Insurance

Always insure your assets. Jennifer Lopez has reportedly insured her bum for a cool $27 million and she wouldn’t be the first person to do so. Julia Roberts actually owns a million-dollar smile as her iconic grin is worth $30 million. While body part insurance may seem narcissistic and bit dramatic for most of us, for entertainers, beauty equals income.  Cristiano Ronaldo, a world-renowned soccer player, has his legs insured for 103 million pounds, which is roughly $175 million. In the unfortunate event that a sport-related injury causes Ronaldo to leave the game of soccer, he could collect a $175 million check.

Kidnap and Ransom Insurance

It’s not a real action movie if there isn’t a kidnapping. The good guys trick the bad guys into believing that they are paying a ransom while they are secretly developing a plan to get the hostage back.

Kidnapping doesn’t often seem real, but it happens more often than we like to think. Fortunately, some insurance companies offer kidnapping insurance policies that may cover and or/provide a critical response team, loss due to injury, medical expenses, a reward to informants, and payback for ransom. Although it’s not something most people would like to think about it, there is insurance available.

Haunted House Insurance

Halloween houses can be frighteningly fun when done in a big way. More goes into the production of major haunted houses than fake spider webs and cardboard tombstones in the front yard. Big time haunted houses can provide an eerie thrill with fog chines, actors, hidden skeletons, fake blood and more.

As with any themed attraction, it is crucial to have general third party liability insurance. For example, a teen in St. Louis suffered an asthma attack as a reaction to a fog machine in a haunted house. Her family  filed a personal injury lawsuit against the production company responsible for the attraction.
