Melissa Migdalski was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. As a student at Lake Howell High School, she became involved with groups such as peer counseling and peer mediation – organizations that enabled her to assist troubled teens through peaceful conflict resolution and also mentor mentally disabled children. After graduating in 1996, Ms. Migdalski moved to Tallahassee, Florida, to attend Florida State University (FSU).

Ms. Migdalski graduated from FSU in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in psychology. While at FSU, she was a member of the Delta Zeta sorority and helped to plan and organize numerous philanthropic and social events for the university. In addition, she was a vociferous advocate and active member of Habitat for Humanity in Tallahassee.

She attended Stetson College of Law, located in St. Petersburg, Florida, and received her law degree in 2003.  In her final year, she completed a practicum with the University Community Hospital, where she worked to ensure the hospital was in compliance with a myriad of federal and state regulations including patient care and innovative medical procedures. As soon as she graduated law school, she joined the Florida Department of Children and Families, negotiating multi-million dollar contracts with Central Florida healthcare organizations providing mental health services for substance abuse and advocate for prevention.

After passing The Florida Bar, she joined the State Attorney’s office of the 9th Judicial Circuit in Orlando, FL where she managed a monthly caseload of more than 800 cases, including jury trials in felony and misdemeanor criminal cases. After gaining significant trial experience, she transitioned from criminal to civil law.

Ms. Migdalski currently serves as an advocate for victims’ rights and represents victims of motorcycle and motorist accidents, premises liability and criminal defense. Ms. Migdalski is involved in raising awareness of motorcycle and motorist safety and providing victims with information and resources about insurance coverage.
